2010 – It’s notable that the overall champion, Dave Long, did not take part in the first hot-dog eating contest. “I think the hot-dog eating contest is all about eating lots of food in a little time, whereas the Meat Destroyer is about eating lots of food in a lot of time,” he said. Did that play into his strategy? “Meat Destroyer strategy? I think ‘strategy’ is probably a pretty strong word,” he said. And we couldn’t agree more!
