This year we’re introducing the brand new ELITE MEAT Contest at the Meat Destroyer.
For those of you who know your way around the kitchen, this contest is for you!

Joe Palumbo & the Bacon Explosion
The Elite Meat was really inspired by MD legend & board member Joseph Palumbo. At Joe’s very first MD in 2008, he brought Smoked Corned Beef. At his second MD, he whooped up his famous Porkshires (burgers stuffed with pulled pork), and debuted his version of what’s known as the ‘Bacon Explosion’. Last year, it was the ‘White Trash Surf & Turf’. The Bearded BBQ Kid from the Northtowns has steadily raised the meat-bar, and now it’s your turn. . .
We’re looking for the most creative, and awesome grilled meat dish you can muster up. Do you make the best brisket? Is your pulled pork with sausage crumbles the best in Buffalo? The Meat Destroyer Elite Meat Contest wants YOU!

The prepared dish must be at least meat-centric, i.e. a salad with bacon bits sprinkled atop it would not qualify.
The food does not have to be cooked on official Meat Destroyer grills, but it should be served at the appropriate temperature. For example, Chicken Caesar Ice Cream sounds delicious but would likely melt into an inadmissible soup. Don’t bring anything that can’t be either cooked there or allowed to sit all day in semi-shade.
All attendees will be able to cast a ballot for the Elite Meat. The public vote will be used by the Meat Destroyer judges to determine the winner; however, in the event of voter fraud or a predomination of talentless tongues, the judges reserve the right to protect the integrity of the Meat Destroyer (and meat in general) by relying on their own instincts to award the prize.
Try to bring enough to share with some people. The more people that can try your item, the better you’ll fair in the voting process. Once we tally up the votes, the winner of the Elite Meat will receive a custom Chef’s Hat and a prize TBA.
Get those ideas ready! It will take alot to beat a grilled meatloaf wrapped in bacon, seasoned with peppers & onions, seasonings, and goldfish crackers.
